Questions

“White Ant” is another name for termites; they are one and the same.

With an estimated cost of over $4 billion to both domestic structures and commercial properties each year, identification, management and elimination of termites is critically time sensitive. Did you know 1 in 3 homes are affected by termites!! The average cost due to termite damage is $10,000 which can easily go higher due to termite’s quick and destructive nature.

No!! Most insurance companies won’t cover termites in their home and contents policies. Insurance companies refuse to cover it as the risk of termite damage is too high.

If you are not an experienced pest technician, detecting termites isn’t as easy as it may seem. Our technicians are fully trained and qualified with years of experience to detect termites and the environments they thrive in. Unfortunately, we too often see homes that have not undergone a thorough termite inspection by a qualified technician, only to find termite activity after significant damage has been caused. Why take the risk with one of your biggest investments!

Australian Standards recommend termite inspections are carried out annually. If your home is located in an area of known high termite pressure, 6 monthly inspections may be recommended.

We will always do our best to cater to your needs. If same day service is something you require, please call our friendly office on 0412 497 281 to discuss.

A pest technician provides a service far greater than just ‘applying chemicals to your home’. GEKA Pest Management technicians are fully licensed and insured with qualifications in pest and termite treatment, prevention and solutions with decades of valuable experience in pest identification. As a trained technician I can identify pests, their environment, breeding habits, entry points and best determine the appropriate treatment to reduce any future infestations after thoroughly assessing the property.

The best way to minimise pest infestations is to carry out a minimum yearly pest control. Certain pests may require regular treatments depending on circumstances and environment conditions. Therefore it is important to get a skilled and trained pest technician to assess your property. When booking in a pest treatment, it’s the perfect opportunity to have your annual termite inspection carried out at the same time offering peace of mind, early detection, prevention and a generous discount!

Absolutely! We ensure that all pest management work is carried out in accordance with industry codes of practice and regulations with due attention to consumers and the environment. Our products are tried and tested as well as being considered safe for use in schools, child-care centres, food manufacturing, etc. We are more than happy to provide a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) upon request. Some people prefer to vacate the property or waiting outside during the treatment and returning once the treatment has dried (generally 1 hour to dry). We are happy to discuss this in further detail upon booking your appointment if you have any additional questions.

Not usually, The majority of our treatments are odourless.

Our treatments are safe and effective! Immediately after the treatment you will see a strong reduction in the amount of pests present, complete elimination may take weeks. Some treatments such as cockroach gels or baits are used to encourage the pest to move towards the bait to ingest and die. Due to this you may see a slight increase as the treatment is working. We offer a 12-month warranty period for most pests treated. (Subject to T&C).

Generally rodents who have ingested bait will die outside of the home as they go in search of water. Occasionally, they may die in the roof void or wall cavity.
